For the last 9 years we have gone Christmas tree cutting at the same farm, Maple Row in Eastern Connecticut. Sure when you live in New York you can get a tree on every corner, but there is something rich about loading up the family and friends and making the pilgrimage north to find the perfect tree.

This year we decided to tailgate before the hunt, and had a fantastic breakfast laughing connecting and combining Chili, eggs, fruit, donuts and chocolate.

Every year we take a family portrait and it's been a point of joy to see the family grow and mature over the years.

We found our tree early and were able to beat the rain.

A challenge tying it down while it was pouring but worth it, so we could hurry to Pepe's pizza.

Pepe's Pizza clam and garlic pizza has been ranked the number 1 pizza in the country. I don't know if it's that good but it's close.

Then back to the city to decorate the tree.
