

The commute uptown is a long one from Hell's Kitchen, and with the A Train down for construction took ages .

After a quick bite and coffee from Darling Coffee, and passing the Ground Zero Cross at the church we headed into Inwood Hill Park, arguably Manhattans best kept secret.

Someone gave me a Cuban Montecristo for my 40th birthday. Incredible smoke on a perfect Fall day.



The Darling Coffee pastries are at another level. Apple Donut Cake is exceptional





This is the path leading to the rock where legend has it the Island of Manhattan was purchased from the Native Americans for trinkets.



Great discussion about the need for perspective in a mans life, and seizing the opportunity to live a life of consequence here in the city.

We stopped by Indian Road Cafe for another coffee. I've been coming here for almost a decade, and there is no place like it in New York. A real gem.




After a while we headed down to Nate's favorite restaurant, Malecon, a few blocks from where we used to live. Quote from my son, "Best. Food. Ever." Also, the green sauce.




Followed by a trip back downtown and an afternoon nap. A proper Sabbath
