Nat Sherman is one of the best cigar shops in the city. An enduring brand and impeccable selection make it an essential place for cigar lovers in New York. To celebrate their 85th year in business they hosted a gala with all proceeds going to City Harvest at their legendary townhouse on 42nd street. I went with one of my brothers Guy Wasko for what turned out to be an extraordinary evening.

The night started with a 75th year anniversary cigar, champagne, wine and cheese.

A delightful mild smoke, it was the perfect beginning to the evening.

Joel Sherman is the patriarch of the family and CEO, who keeps the memories and values of his father alive. He said tonight, "It's all about the right people, the people are everything at Nat Sherman."

We then moved on the the 85th year anniversary cigar that is a phenomenal smoke. Mid to full bodied and it smokes to perfection.

Cliff has been working at Nat Sherman for years and is a gentleman of true regard. A humble aficionado whose hospitality and service are second to none.

After living in New York for a decade, it's hard to find an establishment that still maintains that true sense of excellence and integrity, the old school New York values. But at Nat Sherman they are alive and well, and the future looks steady and strong.
